Minecraft
Installing plugins & mods
You don’t need to download .jar files or use SFTP. Your panel has a built-in installer that searches Modrinth and Hangar, filters out anything incompatible with your server, and installs with one click.
Installing a plugin
- Log in at panel.frizzlenhost.com and open your server.
- Open the Tools → Plugins tab.
- Search by name. Results come from Modrinth and Hangar, and the installer only shows versions compatible with your server type and Minecraft version — no guessing.
- Click Install. The plugin lands in
/plugins, and the panel prompts you to restart so it loads.
Removing a plugin
One click on Remove in the same tab. This disables the plugin rather than deleting it — its files and config stay on the server, so you can re-enable it later without losing settings. Want it gone entirely? Delete its folder from Files → plugins/.
Plugins vs mods
- Plugins run on Paper/Purpur servers. Players don’t install anything.
- Mods run on Forge/Fabric servers (
/mods). Players usually need the same mods installed on their client. - You can switch server type any time with one click — see Switching server version or type.
- After a full modded setup instead of individual mods? See Installing a modpack — that’s one click too.
Advanced: manual install
Some plugins live outside Modrinth and Hangar (e.g. SpigotMC-only releases). For those, the old way still works:
- Download the
.jarfrom the source. - Panel → Files →
plugins/(ormods/on Forge/Fabric) → Upload. - Restart and check the console for load errors. For mods, the version must match your Minecraft and loader versions exactly.
